Politics, the biggest enemy to development

When we hear the word politics, most of us have negative reactions to it. Spiritually, I do not have any rights to blame politics for my nation's under development since I've never involved in politics. The following joke might help to illustrate this post's topic.

Once, for a space exploration programme, the government was selecting the space scientists for the programme. So, the interview was running to select the scientist for the job.

Interviewer: How much money do you take to go to space?
First Scientist:  I need Rs. 200,000 for this job.
Interviewer: What will you do with this money?
First Scientist: 1,00,000 I'll give to my family and 1,00,000 I'll use as my pocket money.
[First interview completes]

Interviewer: How much money do you take to go to space?
[Normally the cheapest will be selected]
Second Scientist:  I need Rs. 3,00,000 for this job.
Interviewer: What will you do with this money?
Second Scientist: 2,00,000 I'll give to my family and 1,00,000 I'll use as my pocket money.
[Second interview completes]

Interviewer: How much money do you take to go to space?
Third Scientist:  I need total sum or Rs. 10,00,000 (10 lakh) for this job.
[One scientist has agreed to go to space with Rs. 2 lakh and he is demanding 10 lakh, there is no possibility that he will get this contract.]
Anyway the interviewer asks "What will you do with this money?"
Third Scientist: 5,00,000 I'll give to my family and 1,00,000 I'll use as my pocket money.
Interviewer: And what will you do with the remaining Rs. 4,00,000 money?
Third Scientist: I'll offer you the remaining money.

Immediately the the scientist was selected for the job.

Id, ego and super-ego

I think we must have heard about these three common words, 'Id, ego and super-ego' during conversation with friends, in a movie or just using in your daily conversation. We may have been using these words but what actually is its meaning. Let's look at the definition from Wikipedia.

[Id, ego and super-ego are the three parts of the psychic apparatus defined in Sigmund Freud's structural model of the psyche; they are the three theoretical constructs in terms of whose activity and interaction mental life is described. According to this model of the psyche, the id is the set of uncoordinated instinctual trends; the ego is the organized, realistic part; and the super-ego plays the critical and moralizing role. The super-ego can stop you from doing certain things that your id may want you to do.
Even though the model is structural and makes reference to an apparatus, the id, ego and super-ego are functions of the mind rather than parts of the brain and do not correspond one-to-one with actual somatic structures of the kind dealt with by neuroscience.] ~Wikipedia

In case you didn't clearly understood with the definitions of Wikipedia. Let me present you with a clear illustration below to better enlighten you in the topic.
Id means emotion/instinct. You are walking along a road and you see a beautiful girl or a handsome boy and immediately you have a desire to hug/embrace him/her. It is not crime, not sin. Take it as a religion/nature(स्वभाव) of your mind. This is called Id / Instinct. This nature is present in every living creatures including human. When your instinct wants to hug or embrace. Animals will embrace or those who embrace immediately are animals. Now the super-ego suggests; stop what are you doing, it is illegal, immoral, sinful act; have you forgot you are married? Id always suggests you to act according to the desire and super-ego provides you with moral aspects or simply stops you from doing it.

Talking in terms of biology, we have to give expression to those feelings. But super-ego does the act of censorship towards Id because if you act you are finished because its illegal, immoral and non-social. And if you do not provide outlet to your emotion by saying that it is illegal, immoral and sinful act, then that person may lose his/her sanity. So, what nature does to save that person from being insane is to bring the role of Ego in it. Ego is very clever. Ego is wisdom. So, what ego does now is that, it says to Id/Instinct (in our case, desire to hug) it is ok to hug but it is not the proper time and place to hug. She is not your wife or He is not your husband. Your husband/wife is waiting for you at home. That is Ego. Ego helps to divert all these things and feeling with a rational and defensive way that won't bring harm to you. In this way Ego plays an important role in making you sane. If you suppress your feelings according to super-ego you will definite become the victim of mental illness. Ego provides the proper outlet to your feelings.

Let's consider an another example. You are in a conference hall, and you are in hurry to urinate. That is instinct /Id. Then super-ego suggests 'stop, you are in a conference room.' Then ego suggests you 'don't you see the toilet there, go there are do your work.' So, the Id / Instinct is forcing you to urinate right here, super-ego is telling you 'not here' and ego is telling you 'there is the toilet'. That's why ego saves human. So, Id and super-ego are the identity of animal, you need to have ego to become a human.

We have yet to be Human, the wonderful story

Do you consider yourself as human being? Think again. [Read the true story of last paragraph]

Let's read this version of one Philosopher regarding 'being human being'.

See the raw material of 'gold', stone is mixed in it, we cannot use that raw materials to wear the gold necklace. The raw material of gold must be melted, heated and processed, then only it becomes gold. We all are only the raw materials for human being. We have yet to become human being. Similarly potentiality is there in us to become human beings but that raw material needs to be polished, heated, processed to become the final product i.e. 'human being'. 99% of people on Earth live like a raw material and die like a raw material they don't die as human being.

Only 1% population govern, use 99% population. Why?
1% people have that amount of money which the altogether other 99% people doesn't have. i.e 1% people are rich.

Because 99% population sell themselves in raw form in the market; i.e. in name of job, in salary, business, etc. You have the right to sell in raw form but when you sell in raw form you get nominal price. We have been selling the herb 'Ophiocordyceps sinesis' (Yarsagumba in nepali) in raw form to foreign nation a lot. When the same 'Yarsagumba' is processed and is produced in the form of medicine capsule. The price of the capsule may be 100 times or even 1000 times more than the price of raw form of it. We have been exporting numerous herbs in raw form, so we also get raw money, which won't have any impact on national level. So, even gold can be useless if its in raw form, because it needs processing. Raw material is useful but in negligible amount than compared to the final product. It seems we are breathing, we are living, but actually we are not alive.

This way 99% population are selling themselves in raw form knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or unwillingly. Because we have been taught to be sold in raw form. If we sell a doctor/lawer/successful businessman in raw form what would be his income since before being doctor/lawer/successful businessman he is only capable of manual works, he is a coolie. He uses 5-10 years of his life learning, experiencing and experimenting to become doctor/lawer/successful businessman, etc. and only then he becomes valuable. If he don't process himself, he ultimately becomes a coolie i.e. manual worker

Let's read an example.

Nowadays after you pass BA, MA, etc. you work whole day using a computer. In the past days you have to turn the pages of account books manually. You pass MA just to turn the pages of account book. Who earns how much amount of money and how much he spends, just to keep the account of money of others you pass MA. The person who keeps the account; need to have degree in economics and the person who actually earns money doesn't need any degree in economics or any subject. He doesn't need any education, he just earns money. He says to the economics degree holder, 'You keep my account because I don't know how to read and write, I'll give you Rs. 5,000 or 7,000 or 10,000 per month. And the degree holder becomes happy to have received 10,000 per month. We have been taught from childhood to do slavery (gulami in hindi)of others. We live just to fulfil the demand of stomach, nothing more. We delete the desire of mind and soul just to fulfil the demand of stomach. So, 99% people's life are ruined because they sell themselves in raw form which doesn't have any value.

The All Knowing Mind, Placebo Effect

"All what we are is the result of what we have thought,
The mind is everything, what we think, we become." ~Siddartha Gautama Buddha
Mind is responsible for everything that happens in our life. When you are spiritually healthy, and your 'aura' is strong no disease or misfortune can happen to you. Mind is everything, we rarely use more than 10% of our mind's potentiality. There is really an interesting experiment called placebo effect which can easily demonstrate our mind's capability.

A Placebo is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient. Sometimes patients given a placebo treatment will have a perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition, a phenomenon commonly called the placebo effect. ~Wikipedia

A pharmaceutical company manufactures a medicine for some specific disease. Then the doctors, gave the medicine to specific patients of same disease of similar ages by creating groups. For one group patients doctors prescribed the original medicine manufactured by the pharmaceutical company. But for one group patients doctors prescribed the similar looking medicine, but inside there is no medicine or it's just sugar pill. But the doctors didn't tell this group's patients that it is just sugar pill.

Both the group's patient thought that by taking the medicine given by the doctor, they will be cured. And upto now with so many experiments, it is found out that more than 30% of the patients who were given just the sugar pill are completely cured as another group's patients who were given the real medicine. So, remember, more than 30% of patients' were cured without giving the real medicine, whether the given pill is just sugar pill or not, it should be prescribed by the doctors and they are cured. Therefore for more than 30% patients the sugar pill or the pill which have no medicine inside can bring the same amount of effect to the patient as if s/he is given the real medicine. In medical term this effect is called Placebo Effect

The medicine manufactured in pharmaceutical company's laboratory and ordinary sugar pill, both can have same effect, but not for all. If more than 50% of patient's can be treated by placebo effect then there won't be existence of medicine since just the sugar pill will be enough if it is prescribed and given by the doctor, who tells the patient that it will cure your disease. But placebo effect's limitation is around 30%. So, 30% patients doesn't need medicine, they just need doctor's prescription that what they are taking is the medicine. So, now think who cures the 30% of patient since they are never given the real medicine.

And now modern doctors say that if a patient have faith on the doctor, and more the quantity of patient's faith on the doctor, the faster they will be cured, medicine is secondary thing. Medicine is second thing, primary thing is patient's faith on the doctor. Lesser the patient's faith on doctor, lesser will be the effect of medicine even if it is clinically tested to cure the specified disease.
I also have seen many cases where patients/people, who say that, I doubt this doctor, anyway let's see what this medicine does. These people's disease is not cured at all.

Isn't this world strange. Up-to now we live in the objective world, objective truth, physical truth. There is no physical, only psychological, only mind. If physical truth is there, then the medicine should work no matter who gives you the medicine, there won't be the role of mind. But it doesn't happen like that. There is a great role of mind.

Now the concept of alternative medicine, holistic medicine, which includes spirituality is emerging since the conventional medicine and physical reality is no more going to work in coming days.

"Mind-body medicine: takes a holistic approach to health that explores the interconnection between the mind, body, and spirit. It works under the premise that the mind can affect "bodily functions and symptoms" ~ Wikipedia

Moments when I including everyone who encountered couldnt' stop to laugh!

There always are moments and stories in everybody's life which is worth sharing and worth telling. So, here are two stories which I encountered and want to share at the moment.

Once I was going at my work on micro bus. That day there was so much traffic jam so there was so much crowd inside the vehicle and the seat was full. When the vehicle stopped at the bus station many people came rushing towards the bus to see whether there was space/seat available for them.
One woman asked the conductor "Is there seat in the bus?".
Then the conductor replied, "What are you saying auntie, can there be any bus without seats? There are so many seats in the bus but all are full right now." Everybody laughed.

Once I was in the queue to pay electricity bill of my home. There were two counters but only one queue.  Three persons before me was an old man, carrying the electricity payment card and money on his hand. On the counter was two ladies; one aged and one young lady. The man before the old man's payment was finished and the aged woman on the counter was free. And even after 20 seconds or so the old man didn't gave the card and seems to be looking and waiting for the young lady to finish her work. The aged lady asked "Grandfather, Give me your electricity payment card. She is busy right now, Do you need to give the card to this lady?." Then, the old man knew exactly what she was saying and nervously murmured 'No, No.'. Then the woman on the counter said, "Then give it to me, there are also others who are waiting for their turn". Everybody laughed.

If this is all what it means to being 'Educated'

To remove the complexity of this post let's just read this humours example. And most probably this is the reality of education.

Someone learns swimming. Then the swimming learned by third person is recorded in the form of books and is then taught in the school course book.

Teacher: This is how you have to move your left hand, then your right hand.
And then you have to move your left leg then your right leg.
And the most important thing is where the students' are being taught swimming?

They are being taught swimming in the 'Class Room', and by the teacher who has never swam in this entire life (have zero swimming experience) and is afraid of swimming and with river because he has done PHD. in swimming.

And one day by mistake the same student who have previously learned swimming not in the swimming pool but in the class room encounters with the river. Then the student jumps into the river since his teacher has taught in the class as how to move his hands and legs. He dives into the river to move his hands and legs, but inhaling water from the nose was not taught in the class.
While teaching 'inhaling water from the nose' was not in the chapter.
Before even moving his hands or legs as his teacher told him, he felt so much pain as he couldn't breathe. Then his entire effort goes on how to survive, then in the process his life ends.

This is the exact situation of education. If you want to teach swimming, the child must be taken to the swimming pool. If you want to teach football, the students must be taken to the football ground.

The similar like in the above example is happening in our education not exactly like this one but like above example.

What we call 'Education' is absolutely not education at all since it has only been teaching us how to stay physically alive in this competitive world. i.e. It is only teaching us to pass examinations. Your so called teachers prepare you just for passing the examinations, but they do not talk to you about living, which is most important; because very few know how to live. Most of us merely survive, we somehow drag along, therefore life becomes a miserable thing. Really to live requires a great deal of love, a great feeling for silence, a great simplicity with an abundance of experience; it requires a mind that is capable of thinking very clearly, that is not bound by prejudice or superstition, by hope or fear.

Little Yoga Master

Jokes are not enough for laughter. So, I hope this video can create laughter.

When we smile, the brain releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that produces feelings of happiness. Interestingly enough, this effect works both ways: the release of dopamine when we feel happy causes us to smile, and the mere act of smiling causes the brain to release dopa-mine, which in turn makes us feel happy.

Census, the humour is on

Once in a remote village, there was only one person named Birkhe, who is literate and knows how to read and write. During the census, the govt recruited Birkhe to collect the data from the village. The Chief District Officer teaches him what to ask from the individual houses and fill in the census form. The CDO told him to ask 'Are you married?' If yes, then tick 'married' and vice versa in the form and ask 'How many children you have? and so on...

Then the person went to the village with census form.

Birkhe knocked on a door of a house. A young lady appeared. He said that he was collecting data for census for the government. And asked the lady, 'Are you married?'. The lady replied 'No'. Then he filled the census form. And then he asked 'How many children you have?'. Then the lady replied with a slap in his face.
In the evening Birke returned to the office and said to the CDO that the lady from the village slapped him in his face. Then he asked what did you ask her? Birkhe said First I asked her 'Are you married?, She said 'No'. Then I asked her how many children you have? and she then slapped me.
Then CDO said you should  have asked first 'How many children you have?'

Then next day Birkhe again went for his job. He knocked on another house where an old lady opened the door. He said that he was collecting data for census for the government. And asked the old lady, 'How many children you have? She replied she had six children. Then he asked 'Are you married?" Then she replied with a slap in his face.

Morale: Just learning how to read and write cannot make you successful in life. Doing what you want and making it your work can make you successful. There are so many people who are literate and educated but unemployment is increasing.

The Science behind jokes.

You need to laugh to be healthy the scientific reason is explained in my previous post here. So, why not create a reason to make us healthy. Jokes are the best tool to make you laugh because it is short and meaningful that even the busiest person can have time to read it. “It is better to tell a joke to a patient every four hour and make him/her laugh than to give antibiotic every four hour.” ~Dr. Yogi Vikashananda

Following two jokes are more laughable when its read in Nepali cause my translations may not be that much comical.

Translation:
Patient: Doctor can I eat this?
Doctor: Yes you can eat that.
Patient: Can I eat that?
Doctor: Yes brother you can eat this. Yes sister you can eat that. You can eat all things except my brain.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Wife (thinking) :

(translation isn't that much amusing so this best for Nepali friends.)

This is a incident between a husband and a wife.
Background: Both are newly arrange married. And husband have a habit of saying 'otherwise' which the wife was unfamiliar with.
Husband: Iron my clothes correctly, otherwise!
Wife (thinking): Just recently being married so with some fear she did it as he told her.
Husband: Cook the meat tastefully, otherwise!
Wife (thinking): One day, the wife became very much angry, because in the initial days she didn't want to destroy her honeymoon. But now the honeymoon is over and only honey night and honey darkness remains. But always remember the taste of honey is always sweet, even in darkness. So, the honeymoon is over and now she have some courage to fight back.
One day husband again commands her wife: Heat the water, I've to bath with the hot water. Otherwise!
Wife: She became very much angry and replied; What always otherwise-otherwise. Otherwise what will you do?
Husband: Otherwise I'll bath with cold water.

Morale: अतह कुनै कुनै भाषा बुझ्नुपर्छ क्या ।त्यो नत्र त्यत्रो खतर्नाक त थिएन नि ।
We have to understand some languages, gestures. The meaning of otherwise was not that much life threatening and harmful in the above story/joke.

Laugh heartedly and activate endorphin hormones to be healthy and happy.

Marriage; important or urgent?

This one is another incident of a Dr. Yogi Vikashananda. He conducts the classes of super learning and the leader of Manokranti movement in Nepal.
Here is what he says;
Dr. Yogi Vikashananda: I've seen small children showing wisdom and creativity than the older ones in the classes of super learning. In one super learning class there are people of different age groups from 60 year old campus chief to 12-year old 8th grade school children. In one of the class I was asking them "What do you think marriage is, is it important or is it urgent?" Some of the older people said it is urgent while most of the older people said it is important.
But one 12 year old child was watching at my face with great amazement and replied to me: Sir isn't it entertainment?

More spiritual, ironical and unconventional message carrying jokes are to be published. So, stay connected.

Positive Thinking

This incident is one of the moment of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh's life.
Once one Sanyasin(that's what Osho calls his disciple) wearing a locket of Rajneesh (Osho) was taking alcohol in a hotel (bhatti). Another disciple saw this and became very much sad thinking that the disciple with the company of such great enlightened guru is drinking alcohol. Then he decided that whether the Master/Guru's teaching is wrong or the Disciple is wrong. He couldn't put it to himself so he finally decided to ask Osho about it.
Then he asked.
Disciple: Bhagwan I've seen with this physical(भौतिक) eye, that one of your disciple is drinking (physical/भौतिक) alcohol in the bar/(भत्ति). With all of your great teachings and knowledge that disciple is taking the help of alcohol to destroy his life. So, I doubt your teachings or I'm curious to know what's wrong with that disciple?

With this question Osho Rajneesh became happy and smiled and he replied.

Osho: Brother, that's the difference between you and me. You view everything with negativity, with negative perspective. I see everything with positive perspective. You view even positive things with negative perspective that's why you are disciple. I see every negative thing with positive perspective that's why I am Guru. If one of my disciple is drinking alcohol in bar, that's not my humiliation; It is my greatness.
You regard it as my humiliation but I regard it as greatness because even a person who is nonsense, rubbish, drunkard and foolish listens to my discourse (प्रवचन) and can be a disciple (चेला) of me this is a example of greatest achievement of my teachings.

Morale: If a person who have not reformed even with the company of Osho, how could he have destroyed himself if he got the company of bad people.
जो मान्छे ओशो जस्ता सन्तको सङ्गत्ले त सुध्रेन त्यो मान्छे अरु नरम्रा मान्छे को सँगत मा परेको भए कती बिगृन्थ्यो होला त ?

How to install Bino, 3D Video Player on Ubuntu 12.04 and

Bino is a stereoscopic or 3D video player available for all platforms including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD and Windows Operating Systems. For Windows users there are many commercial video players available including Cyberlink Power DVD 12. You can also use free NVIDIA 3D video player if your computer have a compatible NVIDIA Graphics Card with Nvidia 3D vision feature.

Commercial softwares are not available for Linux.
So, I think there is no reason not to using Linux just because you have difficulty in watching 3D movies. Linux is not limiting you to watch 3D movies.

'Bino' (Windows, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, Linux) is free software, open source licensed under the terms of the GNU GPL version 3 or later with two special features:
- Support for stereoscopic or 3D videos, with a wide variety of input and output formats.
- Support for multi-display video, e.g. for powerwalls, Virtual Reality installations and other multi-projector setups.
Supported input formats (modern formats can be autodetected):
  • Monoscopic (2D) video
  • Left and right view in separate video streams and/or files
  • Left and right view side by side (optionally with half width)
  • Left and right view on top of each other (optionally with half height)
  • Left and right view in alternating rows
Supported output formats:
  • Anaglyph red-cyan glasses (this works with every display)
  • Bino uses the high-quality Dubois method to produce anaglyph images. This gives far better results than the usual full-color and half-color methods.
  • Left and right view side by side (used by some 3D displays)
  • Left and right view on top of each other (used by some 3D displays)
  • Left and right view in alternating rows or columns (used by some 3D displays)
  • OpenGL quad-buffered stereo (only available with some graphics cards)

And here is exactly how you install Bino under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

First of all open terminal and type
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:zeppelinlg/bino (use copy and paste)
Then press ENTER to add the repository
Now you need to update your repository by running following command
sudo apt-get update
Finally you can install bino by running following command from the terminal
sudo apt-get install bino
And you are done.

For windows you can simply click the following link to download the program.
Why pay for commercial software when there is opensource to do the same.

Here is the screenshot of bino 1.4. playing 'Transformers, Dark of the Moon 3D' on my computer with Ubuntu 12.04.
You do need (left)Red + Cyan(right) glasses to watch 3D movies on non-3d display. If you have a 3D display then you'll have the required glasses when you buy one.

Ubuntu with Beyond Computers Pvt. Ltd.

I, as a founder of Beyond Computers Pvt. Ltd, and the publisher of http://www.mrakesh.com.np/ is very happy to finally implement Ubuntu as a viable, free open source Operating System and working solution against the prevalent Microsoft Operating Systems. Of course there are so many challenges for its implementation. I wish to introduce my world and my business with Ubuntu. Currently I've implemented Ubuntu Operating system in two firms, where one it's working as a server and one is working as a virus proof web browsing desktop. Here are few pictures which I took for my blog.

The above two picture is of Ubuntu which is working as a dedicated file server for 25 workstation desktops (computers) in a firm. It's operating from 5th March 2012.

The above two picture is of Ubuntu working as a smooth web browsing experience in a Cyber Cafe named Cyber Annex some place in Lalitpur. It's operating from 1st September 2012.

Here are few features of Ubuntu.
It's perfect OS for a server.
It's best for a desktop.
It is free and Open source.
It is free from (windows) viruses, the headache for most users.
It's interface is easy, elegant and beautiful.
It works faster than windows.
It doesn't slowdown over time.
Canonical Ltd. provides leadership for Ubuntu and its developement and is founded by Mark Richard Shuttleworth (born 18 September 1973), a South African entrepreneur, philanthropist, and space tourist who became the first South African in space.

For those who doesn't know much about Ubuntu and what it can do to help your business contact my email so that I can tell you whether Ubuntu will suit your business and increase your business's productivity.

"Naming" the greatest conspiracy to destroy your curiosity to know yourself

Why don't we seek ourselves. Why do we stop trying to know who we really are, find the purpose of life, know who we authentically are?

In child we all wanted to know our origin and our true identity, to know who we really are? But as we grow older those curiosity to find its answer dies gradually with the continuous gathering of knowledge and dust from the so called society, education, politics, culture, religion.

So, here is what I think the answer to why we forget to know who we really are:
Only if we don't name a child, S/he will seek who S/he really is and what's his/her purpose of life. S/he will seek the answer to "Who am I?" Before S/he gets the answer of 'Who am I?' S/he is given a name. So, S/he drops in the illusion that S/he is his/her given name. Then, S/he tries to know the world. And before knowing oneself to think that one knows the world is a great illusion. So, naming is the most scientific way and a very big conspiracy to killing your curiosity of finding our your true authentic self. And finally to know others is wisdom, to know oneself is enlightenment.

Final Look at Ubuntu 11.10

I live my life two times a year because every 6 months I get my hands on new version of Ubuntu, my favorite Operating system. As of this writing the next version of popular Linux distribution Ubuntu code named “Precise Pangolin” will be released world wide on 26th of April 2012.

UBUNTU 12.04 Precise Pangolin LTS

The LTS in the name means Long Term Support meaning, this version will get support from the Canonical for 5 years. This version will be best to deploy in the enterprise. Ubuntu has its own User Interface called 'Unity' and Unity has been polished very well in terms of performance and looks.

However there's a much talked about feature which we can see in this version. It's called HUD (Head Up Display) for application menus. HUD can be accessed by pressing the Alt key and typing in a description of what you want to do and then it returns a set of matching entries, including some fuzzy matching; i.e. (when you type options it can bring you preferences menu). Over time, it also learns from your previous choices to make the search more and more accurate. Go to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Unity/HUD to find about more about HUD and see its screenshot.

The default applications in Ubuntu 12.04 are the LibreOffice 3.5 as well as Rhythmbox as the default music player.

Finally if you want to demo of how Ubuntu looks and functions then, open your browser and see it in action http://www.ubuntu.com/tour/.

Nightingale, Songbird for Linux is now back!

Since May 2010 I've been missing my favorite music player in my Ubuntu Linux since Songbird left support for Linux showing the reason that songbird is more used by windows users than compared to Linux. There are so many alternatives for windows but for Linux there are few. Since then, songbird for Linux i.e. nightingale is developed by http://getnightingale.com. And finally I'm able to use it in my Ubuntu from March 6, 2012. Nightingale is available for all three major platforms i.e. Linux, MAC & Windows. I don't care about windows but I care about Linux. You can find it's release notes here. You can download this application from here. You can get a sneak preview of Nightingale running in my Ubuntu 11.10.

One of its major feature is that it is backed by 'Gecko' i.e. what Mozilla Firefox uses to render webpages. Like songbird it has so many add-ons and feathers(i.e. theme). One of my favorite add-ons called 'mediaflow' is still in development. I love this add-on because it can display albums in iTunes like cover flow view. On the right side of the program it's displaying the Lyrics of the currently playing songs from the web. I love the user interface of it and the way I can customize it to my needs. So go and get your copy of Nightingale to see for yourself and don't worry it's 'open source' meaning you don't need to pay to use it.
