My Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot 11.10 with Unity and Compiz

As said in 'The Times' [My Ubuntu setup is faster than a PC and prettier than a Mac]. Ubuntu indeed is faster than a PC and prettier than a Mac. Ubuntu has stood up as the most user friendly GNU/Linux distribution amongst the crowd backed by Debian and funded by Canonical Ltd and is fully open source which means you are free to use it and even to distribute encourage others to use it.
A picture is worth a thousand words but a video is even more worth than what a picture could express. So, here's the video of the latest version of Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot in my system.

How to register .com.np domain and get it working with your blogger

After so many months of trying I finally got my new http://www.mrakesh.com.np/ domain got working. So, here I am to share how I did it so that you might not waste 6 more months just to do what could be done in a week or less.

Here are the procedures I have been through.
First of all you need to have a domain name. If you want a ".com" ".info" etc domain you need to purchase that domain. So, instead you can use ".com.np" domain which is free for Nepali Citizen or Organization of Nepal. You can get more information about domain registration at MOS website. 
This is what I did. Since my blog is purely for personal purpose I have to choose either my name (i.e. one that is in your citizenship) or in my case rakeshmanandhar.com.np was already taken so I have to choose either mrakesh.com.np or rakeshm.com.np (where 'm' stands for my sir name). So, I preferred "mrakesh.com.np". 
Since we still need to host the blog at blogspot.com we only need domain hosting. (i.e. just redirect the blog to the new domain) So, for this we have to use some free domain hosting service for which I chose http://freedns.afraid.org/. Now open the link and register/sign up.
Then go to http://register.mos.com.np/form.asp and then fill up the form with your personal information and when you reach "Primary Name Server" fill the form as in the image shown.

How to save youtube videos from Browser's Cache

Spirituality and Technology should not be separate from each other. Spirituality is the source of inspiration for Technology to exist in this world. In my previous post Consciousness - beyond self created gods. I've extracted a poem by Jalaluddin Rumi where he says that god is within ourselves. 
God, Happiness, Compassion, Love is all within ourselves and we try to find them in outer world; in material thing, in another person, in another place. That's why the result is mostly failure. This spiritual teaching is directly related with the tech topic i'm writing because;
Now, it has become difficult to freely and easily download videos from youtube or any other media streaming sites. So, what I try to say is as we are searching for a free software (i.e. virtually impossible to find) which will download the videos from youtube. 
I've found a viable solution because as we play or load a video of youtube in our browser; what it does is that it just downloads the video into our computer's hard drive as a cache file. It is with in our computer's hard drive as we load the video. So, what we just need is not external tool to download videos but we have to find that video file downloaded in browser's cache folder. I can find the file in browser's cache folder but for non-technical people it's a big and time consuming job. 
So, the idea is just to download a program that will do the rest of work after we completely load the video in our browser as I've demonstrated in the video. 

Step 1: Play your favorite youtube video and after it loads completely. (Don't close your browser i.e. firefox, chrome, opera)

Step 2: Download the software videocacheview.

Step 3: Install the software and then open the software.

Step 4: It will have all the list of videos from your browser's cache. You now just have to copy the video and play using media player like VLC

For the first time I'm uploading the video of my favorite OS. I am not a professional in video editing but in this video I have tried to demonstrate how Ubuntu Natty Narwhal with Unity and Compiz can do with your computer.

I tried to find Him on the Christian cross, 
but He was not there; 
I went to the Temple of the
Hindus and to the old pagodas, 
but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere.

Constitution, Need or Desire? जेठ १४ २०६८

First of all to show my hate towards current political conditions caused by the unfaithful politicians I'm for the first time writing my blog in black text....
Without individual spiritual transformation, political transformation alone cannot change anything. How many constitutions have been made in Nepal.

And still we are seeking our end of trouble from another new constitution. But just realize where have those constitution leaded us??? Just the demand for yet another constitution....this chain of game will continue until and unless we are awake unless we transform ourselves........

Wrong Education Idea in our Blood, Bones & Marrows

Is education losing its value? Is acquiring education the one and only goal of life? We makeup looking in the mirror, but have you ever thought that why you are making your faces pretty with makeups. You are not even able to look at your own face, you need a mirror to look your face, so for whom are you doing makeup? Certainly not for yourself which proves that you are living for others, to live for oneself is what people have forgotten. Here, to live for oneself means to live for own inner satisfaction (not selfish). We live with borrowed ideas, we also have so many borrowed ideas about education. In my society also everybody tells me to study first but the reason behind their telling is nothing more than the social aspect. It hurts to study in which you are not interested in. It's a total waste of time and life itself. Academic education is so theoretical that it is a complete boredom.

Laughter is good for your health

  • Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
  • Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
  • Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
  • Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
Following is the excerpt from one of the audio discourse of Osho.
"This is worth considering. It is significant. The first thing to understand is that except for man, no animal is capable of laughter. So laughter shows a very high peak in the evolution of life. If you go out on the street and see a buffalo laughing, you will be scared to death. And if you report it, then nobody will believe that it can happen. It is impossible. Why don't animals laugh? Why can't trees laugh? There is a very deep cause for laughter. Only that animal can laugh which can get bored. Animals and trees are not bored. 

Boredom and laughter are the polar dualities, these are the polar opposites. They go together. And man is the only animal that is bored. Boredom is the symbol of humanity. Look at dogs and cats; they are never bored. Man seems to be deep in boredom. Why aren't other animals bored? Why does man alone suffer boredom? "The higher the intelligence, the greater is boredom. The lower intelligence is not bored so much. That's why primitives are happier. You will find people in the primitive societies are happier than those in civilized ones. Bertrand Russel became jealous when for the first time, he came into contact with some primitive tribes. He started feeling jealous. The aboriginals were so happy, they were not bored at all. Life was a blessing to them. They were poor starved, almost naked. In every way, they had nothing. But they were not bored with life. In Bombay, in New York, in London, everybody is bored. The higher the level of intelligence and civilization, the greater the boredom.

Chasing Success!

Well, it seems everybody is busy in finding success in life. We have been taught from our childhood that we need to be successful, that's why the word 'SUCCESS' has been mechanically imprinted on everyone's sub-conscious mind that we do not require much intelligence and awareness to say that 'we need to be successful'. 

That's why most of our parent's and elders tell us to study and get a college degree. So, today I'm going to talk about 'university education' and 'success'. Today, most of the people think that the word 'success' is dependent on 'education/degree'. It looks as if everyone dreams of success but we keep chasing success without knowing the true meaning of success. Anyways the quest for success is still on.

Why is Teacher required?

Some people think that they can learn better by themselves than with a teacher. Others think that it is always better to have a teacher. So, do we really require a teacher? 

The answer might seem paradoxical so let's see the idea.
Learning is the acquisition of knowledge or skill, which may differ from person to person. People can learn by themselves and from others. Learning can be effective only if a learner can acquire knowledge or skill faster and in a proper way. So, I believe it is a far better idea to have a teacher.
Learning by a teacher is faster and goal oriented. Learning on our own may take longer time and may not head towards the particular direction. If we have whole life to read then we can learn by ourselves but we have limited time to study and also we've to pass the exams so we require teachers. People cannot learn many things if s/he tries him/herself. On the other hand if s/he learns from a teacher; more knowledge can be acquired in a short time. I personally feel that only a brilliant student can study him/herself without guidance of a teacher. Most people require the guidance of a teacher to direct his studies in the desired direction.

My One And Only

Roger, who was 19 years old, was buying an expensive bracelet, to surprise his girlfriend on Valentine's Day, at a very smart jeweller's shop in Hatton Garden, London. 


The Jeweller inquired, 'Would you like your girlfriend's name engraved on it?'

Roger thought for a moment, grinned, then answered, 'No, instead engrave "To my one and only love".'

The jeweller smiled and said, 'Yes, sir; how very romantic of you.'

Roger retorted with a glint in his eye, 'Not exactly romantic, but very practical. This way, if we break up, I can use it again.'

Authentic Religion (Dharma) and Religious Tradition (Sampradaya)

["Religious is the very nature of our soul, We need to be religious not by being Christian but by being Christ, not by being Buddhist but by being Buddha."]
If Blogger management team are rigidly religiously superstitious then definitely my blog might be closed but if they are also the seeker of the Truth then they might consider the contents of this blog because what I'm writing here is from the an audio discourse by Osho who's title is given at the end of this post. If you have ever heard the discourse of 'Mr. S.N. Goenka' regarding 'Vipasanna Meditation' then you'll know the difference between the word 'Dharma [धर्म ]' and 'Sampradaya'. What we call Dharma is the real religion and what we call Sampradaya is just Religious Tradition. When we talk about Hinduism, Muslim, Christianism, Buddhism we are actually talking about Sampradaya they are not Religion what we actually mean. How can it mean Religion because the real meaning of the word Religion is 'nature'. 


i.e. the nature of fire is to be burn and to burn. So, we can say that the 'to burn and to be burn'is the religion of fire. [carefully consider this truth, after all truth is religion.] ["When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion".~Abraham Lincoln, that's his nature, so he used the word religion there.] There cannot be any other truth beyond 'meditation'. It is not accident that the word 'medicine' and 'meditation' has been derived from the same roots; where medicine is for physical body and meditation is for the soul. The hypothesis of GOD has made almost all of us to live a very normal life so normally that we even don't bother to think if what we are being said and taught are even true. This discourse has so many shocking truths that if you are not open minded please do not proceed............. I know only one thing; that is to be natural, that's my religion.

Your husband has not died, it is just the body; his soul is immortal and cannot die. So don't unnecessarily be in despair, be sad and cry, there is no need."

Osho on Court, The humorous experience

Well, this is from an audio discourse titled "God is dead. Now Zen is the only living truth." subtitle: 'God is the business of the priest.' This is one of the incident of Osho's life. This has so many satire and irony everyone should read it.
I am atheist because I do not believe in god. I am spiritual because I'm a part of the existence. Every Saint look serious except Osho. Spirituality does not mean seriousness it is the very core of our life. I don't want my blog to be serious I write because I want to present newer ideas, dimensions to the people so that we can change ourselves and I know that the world's hardest thing to do is to change ourselves. It's very easy to comment or insult others but we have forgotten to look at ourselves that's why we always find our problem outside of us while the solution is within. 

Nobody has encountered God -- no Christian, no Hindu, no Mohammedan -- but they have all said 'yes' because the crowd in which they were born was the crowd of theists.
To say 'No' amongst that crowd would have created difficulties for them. 'Yes' was simply the accepted rule of the game. They have worshiped, they have prayed, not knowing why they were doing it But everybody else is doing it so they become certain that it must be right.

Anitya, The Impermanence

I am and have always been inspired by the music of Enigma. Eight years back on 30th November  2002 I myself had bought the 3rd album by Enigma "LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI!" The lyrics of Enigma songs always fascinates because it presents greater dimension of knowledge and understanding beyond normal ideas. I used to study in grade IX that time, I still remember the lyrics of the first track of the album. "Things are changing, but nothing changes and still there are changes." From my own analysis and knowledge I come to realize the meaning of that lyrics is none other than "Impermanence" ("Anitya/अनित्य" in Sanskrit), which means nothing is permanent.
